WASHINGTON, D.C. — AFPM President and CEO Chet Thompson issued the following statement ahead of this week’s Congressional Review Act resolution vote in the House of Representatives to overturn EPA’s regulations that aim to phase out most new gas-powered cars by 2032:

“This Biden-Harris EPA regulation will ban most new gas-powered cars, harming consumers, our economy and our national security in the process. The House of Representatives must act swiftly to overturn this unlawful policy.

"With the market clearly signaling that we’re not ready for such extreme measures, this should be an obvious choice for elected officials to stand with their constituents and vote to reverse the administration’s efforts to force vehicle electrification.” – Chet Thompson, AFPM President and CEO
