Petrochemical Statistics Program

The program provides comprehensive and timely statistics on selected petrochemicals and is available for subscription. It consists of two statistics reports: AFPM Petrochemical Surveys; and Production & Inventory Statistics and Selected Petrochemical Statistics, U.S. Trade Data (PSR). Descriptions for each are below.

Below are descriptions for each report:

AFPM Petrochemical Surveys

AFPM surveys the petrochemical industry for production on the following petrochemicals: acrylonitrile, aniline, benzene, cumene, ethylbenzene, ethylene, ethylene dichloride, ethylene oxide finished butadiene, i-butanol, isopropanol, mixed xylenes, monoethylene glycol n-butanol, para-xylene, propylene, styrene, vinyl acetate and 2¬ethyl-1-hexanol; inventory levels of acrylonitrile, benzene, cumene, finished butadiene, ethylene, propylene, para-xylene, and styrene. Published quarterly.

Selected Petrochemical Statistics, U.S. Trade Data (PSR) 

A monthly report that contains import and export total quantities of more than 50 selected petrochemicals, including its dollar and unit values; import and export equivalents of benzene and ethylene derivatives based on conversion factors set by the AFPM Petrochemical Statistics Subcommittee. Published monthly.

Safety Statistics

Annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (Summary)

The Annual Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses is a compilation of data based on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) record-keeping requirements for the calendar year as reported by AFPM. The report includes data on recordable incidents, fatalities, lost workday cases and the resulting frequency rates.

Refinery Statistics

U.S. Refining Capacity Report

The U.S. Refining Capacity Report is published annually and contains data supplied by the Department of Energy on the crude oil capacity of petroleum refiners in the U.S. The report also contains data on the capacities of the principal processing units in the refinery.
