WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers today issued the following statement regarding the Advanced Biofuels Association’s motion for an injunction against EPA, which seeks to prevent additional small refinery exemptions under the Renewable Fuel Standard:
“EPA has clear statutory authority to grant small refinery exemptions, and two federal appellate courts recently upheld this authority. Small refinery exemptions serve an important role in ensuring that mandates for biofuels do not have an overly adverse economic impact on U.S. refineries and consumers.”
