March is Women’s History Month, and the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) has two upcoming opportunities for the women in our industry to network and connect with their peers.
Women currently make up about 25 percent of the workforce, and AFPM is always looking for ways to help women grow and feel supported within the petrochemical industry. In the constant battle for talent, recruiting and promoting women is a must-do priority for the industry.
That’s why we’ll be hosting our “Women in Industry Luncheon” on March 20th during AFPM’s Annual Meeting in San Antonio. Including an event to provide a distinct opportunity for women to meet and network with each other at our main event of the year is a natural extension of AFPM’s growing emphasis on creating a more inclusive and diversified industry.
On March 27th, we’ll hold the fourth annual “Women in Petrochemicals” reception at the International Petrochemicals Conference in San Antonio. Like the previous events, the reception is an opportunity to bring women in the industry together with a focus on making connections and contacts, sharing information and knowledge, and finding support from others. Given the tremendously positive feedback we’ve received after each event, we expect this to be another blockbuster. We hope you can join us!
But if you can’t make it to San Antonio this month, don’t despair. AFPM will also be holding a women-specific event at our fall Operations and Process Technology Summit (formerly Q&A) event. Stay tuned for more details …
