The FCC Process Safety Workshop is a one-day event that covers the FCC Process Safety Curriculum that has been developed by the FCC Committee. This curriculum was developed by industry as a result of several high-profile incidents.

Topics include:

  • Industry Know How and Body of Knowledge
  • Practice Share Sessions
  • Safety and Supporting Information and Communication to local personnel
  • Transient Operations and Tools for Monitoring
  • Startup, Shutdown, Emergency Procedures
  • Mixing of Air and Hydrocarbon
  • Full FCC Process Safety Curriculum Resources

The workshop will be a series of knowledge sharing and interactive sessions with the goal of each attendee taking back a list of actionable items they can bring back to their site to improve the safety of their FCC operations.

These documents are meant to share information on process safety practices in order to help improve process safety performance and awareness throughout industry. The goal is to capture and share knowledge that could be used by other companies or sites when developing new process safety practices or improving existing ones. The documents being shared have been used by an industry member, but this does not mean it should be used or that it will produce similar results at any other site. Rather, it is an option to consider when implementing or adjusting programs and practices at a site.

Who Should Attend:

2-3 individuals from each site who are in operations, site FCC SMEs, FCC operator trainers, or procedure writers.

The workshops are aimed at refining companies with FCC units to leverage the knowledge of other sites and companies on good practices for safe FCC operations. Appropriate attendees might be someone from operations and someone who is responsible for FCC operator training or procedures.
